MAILBOAT NAME: M/V Sea Spirit II
PAST NAMES: M/V Russel Portier (1999-Sept. 2007), M/V United Spirit (Sep. 2007- Aug. 2008)
DIMENSIONS: 498 gross tons, 750 DWT tons, IMO # 9221322, Call Sign 3EMW5

BUILT: Russell Portier Shipyard, Chauvin Louisiana, USA
YEAR BUILT: 1999
EARLY CAREER: so far as is known she has been serving the Bahamas her entire career, however under different names, all owned by Mr. Thomas Hanna (see notes below under “Owner”)
BAHAMAS CAREER: serves Acklins, Long Cay and South Long Island, leaving Nassau Tuesdays at 1 PM.

CAPTAINS: not known
FATE: still operating
OWNERS: Ro-Ro Company, Captain Thomas Hanna, Nassau Bahamas. Used to be the M/V United Spirit, sister-ship to the ill-fated United Star. It would appear from a Nassau Tribune article from Feb. 7, 2011, page 7B, that Mr. Hanna was chased by a number of creditors and removed his vessel from the Bahamas Maritime Authority Registry in December 2007 and changed ownership from Carib-USA to Ro-Ro Company Ltd. Despite all this the vessel’s trading seems to have been uninterrupted.

Notes re her building from http://www.shipbuildinghistory.com/history/shipyards/5small/inactive/portier.htm
NOTES: Panama flagged ro-ro/passenger ship. This ship was not sailing on the last week of March 2014 and appears to be fill in for the M/V Mia Dean, the M/V IV Nais, or the M/V KCT when needed. It is unknown whether her present livery (color) is yellow or blue (up-to-date photos are welcome!).
